Rafael Jiménez Reyes (b.1989, Spain) is a fine artist who lives and works in Córdoba, Spain.

The artist graduated in Fine Arts in the specialty of Engraving and Design from the University of Seville in 2012. He began his career in graffiti by making murals and participating in numerous events throughout the national territory. Graffiti led him to New York to establish contact with some early graffiti pioneers and later, a stay with the Cuevas de Nerja archaeological team in 2009. Both experiences lead to a turning point to dedicate himself exclusively to the plastic arts, taking into account the deformation of the image of the past and the identity its axis of work. Since then, he has exhibited his work in different cities such as Madrid, Seville, Gijón, Malaga or Lisbon or Moscow in solo and group exhibitions.

He received scholarships from the Antonio Gala Foundation for young creators, the D-Mencía art show, the 10th edition of AlNorte, PINEA Rota (Cádiz), in the Residencias a Quemarropa program (Alicante), the I EmergenT Torremolinos Production Grant and the XV Genalguacil Pueblo-Museum Art Encounters.

Rafael Jimenez Reye’s work was also featured in 89plus; an international meeting of young artists at ARCO Madrid with Hans Ulrich Obrist and Simon Castets (2015) at international art fairs such as JUSTMAD (2016-2018), JUSTLX (Lisbon), FIG BILBAO or Art & Breakfast, (Málaga) where he received the best artist award in 2017. He was also part of Cadáver-exquisito, selected by ABC Cultural for its stand at the ARCO Madrid edition in 2017. His works are in collections such as Masaveu-Peterson, HEF Juan Entrecanales, CAC Málaga and Cervezas Alhambra.
